Installing RStudio in Ubuntu

R is the popular statistical open source tool for researcher and mathematicians. RStudio integrated development environment enhances the basic statistical support of R and also providing more functionality. It can be installed in Ubuntu with two easy steps.

Installation

Ubuntu Version : 13:04

  • Type the given command in your Terminal

#sudo apt-get install littler libjpeg62

              #cd /homa/username/Documents

             #sudo dpkg -i rstudio-0.98.497-amd64.deb

Extra Tips

  • Once the installation was completed, open rstudio from Unity Dash board or from command line terminal.
  • RStudio comes with two flavors,
    • Desktop version  - Stand alone software for personal computer
    • Server Version – It can be installed in server machine, Client system can access and execute the command remotely from server.
  • Drop your comments if any error occur during installation.
